Old Quebec City is the only city in North America to have preserved ramparts, bastions, gates, and defensive parts. Even today it is still one of the best examples of a fortified colonial city. For these reasons it was declared a World Heritage site in 1985 by UNESCO.

The Heart of Quebec

No Trip to Quebec City would be complete with out a visit to the heart of Quebec, The St. Lawrence River.
It was the gateway that allowed European Settlers to arrive, it was the life blood of Canada's beginnings, shaping Quebec into the Province we now know. The St. Lawrence is Canada's second longest river, and was used as a Gateway for Explorers of Canada's Western Provinces. The river forms a natural boundary between Canada and the USA.
